Acceptable Use Policy

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It describes what you may not do with the Avtim website, accounts and API. The short version: use the Service the way a reasonable engineer would, respect the limits, and do not use us to harm a venue or anyone else.

You may

  • Read the public pages and the live board as often as you like in a browser.
  • Use the API within the limits of your plan, from your own systems, for your own analysis and trading.
  • Quote figures from the Service with attribution to Avtim and a link to the page they came from.
  • Build internal dashboards and alerts on top of the API.

You may not

  • Share one API key between organisations, or sell, lease or otherwise provide access to the Service to third parties.
  • Republish, resell or redistribute raw data or substantial extracts of it, or present our measurements as your own.
  • Scrape the website, bypass the API, or exceed the request limits of your plan by using several accounts or keys.
  • Attempt to use the Service to probe, load, attack or interfere with any exchange or third-party system. Our probe is tuned to be negligible for venues; we will not become anyone's amplifier.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our infrastructure, or test its security without written permission (responsible disclosure to legal@avtim.com is welcome).
  • Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful where you are, including evading sanctions, or in connection with market manipulation.
  • Use the contact form or digest to send us or others unsolicited commercial messages.

What happens if you do

Depending on severity we throttle or revoke the key, suspend the account, or terminate it. We will tell you what happened unless doing so would help an ongoing attack. Where the conduct is unlawful we may report it to the relevant authorities.

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is misusing the Service, or if you operate a venue and want to discuss how our probe behaves towards your endpoints, write to legal@avtim.com.
